Vivekananda College of Law run by Janatha Education Society, Bangalore is organizing a 3 days Faculty Development Programme in Virtual Mode for Law teachers from 21st April to 23rd April 2022, between 9 A.M and 1.30 P.M.
Academic endeavours like Faculty Development Programme, (FDP) facilitates upgradation of knowledge, skill and aims to provide skills that are vital for teaching and research. The aim of the FDP is to describe activities and programmes designed to improve instruction in the classroom teaching. FDP not only upskills the teachers but also creates and emphasizes learner centered teaching. Today there is a paradigm shift in the role of teachers from only lecturing to involving the students in discussions, taking regular feedback from the students and improvising on the subject. The shift has been further accentuated by the outbreak of the pandemic COVID 19 which encouraged online teaching and the same involved considerable use of technology. FDP aims to identify the upcoming changes in the curriculum and the role of the faculty. Faculty must become a learner before becoming a teacher. To maximize the ability of the faculty to teach and the ability of the student to learn, FDP should lie at the heart of the learning process of the faculty. This FDP emphasizes on learner centered teaching, there by catering to the needs of the members of the teaching faculty and researchers in law.
- Objectives of FDP:
To bring the academicians, researchers and law practitioners to a common platform to understand the complexities involved in teaching the law subjects.
In the light of the practitioners of law being a part of this FDP, it paves way for the participants to have better understanding of practical dimensions of law.
To ultimately lead to a further study and research required for the betterment of the society.
