One day Faculty Development Programme on “Effective Pedagogical tools in Legal Education” was organized on December 13th 2017. The programme was well attended by 82 (Eighty two) faculty members, out of whom 70 were from different law colleges across Karnataka.

The programme aimed at enhancing the art of teaching using a wide range of techniques.

The Principal, Dr. K. B. Kempe Gowda in his welcome address highlighted the importance of Faculty Development Programme for teachers specially those who teach in private law colleges. Chief Guest Dr. Prof. H. K. Nagaraja, Adjunct Professor, National Law School of India University, Bangalore inaugurated the event.

Prof. G. K. Narayana Reddy, President, JES and Former Vice-Chancellor, Karnatak University, Dharwad, presided over the programme.

Sri. S. T. Narayana Gowda, Hon. Vice-President, Janatha Education Society, Donor and In-charge member, VCL and Sri. H. G. Balagopal, Hon. Secretary, JES and Chairman, Law Forum, VCL, were the Guests of Honour.

Sri. K. S. Hanumaprakash, Associate Professor proposed vote of thanks.

The programme was divided into four sessions. The esteemed speaker for session – I was Prof. (Dr.) H. K. Nagaraja, Adjunct faculty, NLSIU, who spoke on “Teaching beyond pedagogy”.

Session-II was conducted by Prof. V. S. Mallar, Former Registrar, visiting faculty, NLSIU, Bangalore who spoke elaborately on “Planning and preparation for teaching subjects of law”.

Session – III Prof. (Dr.) M. K. Ramesh, Professor of Law, NLSIU, Bangalore spoke at length on the topic “Basic teaching methods”.

Session-IV was conducted by Prof. Sairam Bhat, Professor of Law, Coordinator, Centre for Environment Law, Education, Research & Advocacy (CEERA), NLSIU, Bangalore who interacted on “Research and Teaching”.

The programme ended with a valedictory session. Vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Kalpana, Vice-Principal, VCL. Certificates were distributed to the participants. The programme was concluded with a happy note from everyone.
